I love pay day

Yes, I love pay day! Not for the fact that I have to pay debt off with a bunch of the income, but rather, that each month I get to see the debt go down just a teeny bit more.

And today I'm especially excited because I got a bonus at work, and although I nearly cried having to do it, I put half of it towards my loan and half of it towards my credit card (as well as my usual monthly repayments on them) and I'M OVER THE MOON to see the numbers slide even further down.

My initial loan that I got out years ago was for 10k. I now have just under $2000 left to repay! HOORAH! I am so excited!

I almost want to kick myself for getting into this mess but I am very happy to be able to see the finishing line .. a little way off. Like pantene, it may not happen overnight, but it will happen. Thank God!

Slowing Down is not a waste of time

If a lumberjack stops work to sharpen his axe, it is not a waste of time.

No one would say the lumberjack is lazy - in fact, most would praise his work ethic in stopping, taking care of his tools and going back to work more efficiently.

So why is it that in yoga there are so many of us who will not stop when we really need to rest? When a pose is beyond our capabilities that day - as often happens in yoga, things change day to day - why is it that we'll struggle through and PUSH ourselves into a pose we think we should be in?

This idea isn't specific just to yoga either - but in all aspects of life, both on and off the mat. Someone mentioned this lumberjack reference to me today and it really has stuck with me. I hope it makes you think too!

Organisation schmorganisation

I've come to believe there is some truth in the idea of being organised. So I'm giving the weekly meal planning thing a go. Small steps.

So far:
- I've got a mushroom, chickpea and tomato risotto on the oven which will last me a good few meals!
- There's pumpkin baking in the oven so I can make the yummy pumpkin, tofu and tomato meal with couscous
- I bought lots of veggies and stock to make up a vegie and lentil soup
- I also bought lots of vegies to make my all time fave dish from my Moosewood cookbook
- Finally, I've also bought some fruit. Comes in handy that.

And when all else fails or I become lazy and don't want to cook, there's frozen salmon fillets in the freezer, along with some frozen single serve vegies. Not ideal, but hey - better than takeaway.

Phew!
